Does This Sound Like Your Teen?
They seem anxious, on edge, or can't shut their mind off at night
They're pulling away, sleeping more, or not enjoying what they used to
Grades, workload, or college pressure feel like too much
A friendship, relationship, or social media situation is weighing on them
Arguments at home have become constant, or they've stopped talking to you
They're asking big questions about who they are
Something happened (a move, a loss, a divorce) and they haven't bounced back
How Teen Therapy Works With Us
Teens open up when they trust that therapy is theirs. Parents need to know their kid is safe and making progress. We make room for both.
Your teen gets their own space. Sessions are one-on-one, and what they share stays private, with clear exceptions for safety. We explain those limits to you and your teen at the start, so no one is surprised.
You stay in the loop. We check in with parents at the beginning and along the way, share the big-picture goals, and give you tools for the hard moments at home.
Approaches We Use With Teens
-
CBT helps kids identify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors and learn more effective ways to respond to stress, frustration,
-
We use DBT-informed tools to help children regulate intense emotions, increase distress tolerance, and improve interpersonal skills in a developmentally appropriate way.
-
For children dealing with phobias or obsessive-compulsive behaviors, ERP helps them gradually face their fears and develop confidence in their ability to handle discomfort.
-
This parent-based treatment teaches caregivers how to reduce accommodations and respond effectively to anxiety-driven behaviors, supporting children without reinforcing their fears.
-
Helps teens understand the patterns behind their feelings and relationships, so they can make sense of what they’re going through and make changes that last.
-
Helps teens make room for hard feelings instead of fighting them, get clear on what matters to them, and take steps toward it, even when anxiety is loud.
-
Simple practices like breathing, grounding, and noticing body signals give teens quick ways to calm down during stressful moments at school or at home.
-
When conflict at home is part of the picture, we bring parents and teens together to improve communication, lower tension, and work through problems as a family.
We match the approach to your teen, and often blend several. Not sure what would fit? We’ll talk it through on our intro call.
What Can Change
Every teen is different, and so is every family. Here's what families often work toward:
Feeling less overwhelmed by anxiety or low mood
Better tools for school stress and big emotions
Fewer blowups and more real conversations at home
Friendships and relationships that feel easier to navigate
A teen who feels more like themselves
Parents who feel confident, supported, and no longer alone
You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone
Adolescence is hard. Your teen doesn’t have to get through it alone, and neither do you.
A short call is the easiest first step. Tell us what’s going on, and we’ll help you decide what comes next.
