PARENTING SUPPORT

Practical help for the hard parts of raising kids, from toddlers through teens.

Every parent hits stretches where nothing seems to work: bedtime battles that won’t end, mornings that fall apart, a teen who stops talking to you.

Parenting support gives you a place to step back, figure out what’s driving the behavior and leave with a plan that fits your family. We meet in person in Scarsdale and Park Slope, and online anywhere in New York State.

Does this sound familiar?

  • You find yourself yelling more than you want to.

  • Consequences aren’t working, or you’re not sure they’re fair.

  • You and your partner handle things differently, and it’s causing tension.

  • Your child is anxious, struggling at school or having big reactions you don’t understand.

  • You’re worried about your teen but don’t know how to bring it up.

What We Help With

  • Young children (2–6): tantrums and aggression, sleep and mealtime struggles, setting limits, potty training and adjusting to a new sibling

  • School-age children (6–12): anxiety and worry, homework and morning battles, sibling conflict, attention and focus, and meltdowns after holding it together all day

  • Teens (13–19): communication, screens and phones, independence and trust, friendships and social media, and knowing when worry is normal and when it’s a sign of something more

  • Co-parenting: getting on the same page with a partner, or parenting through divorce and separation

How Parent Support Works

Parent sessions are usually just for parents. Your child doesn’t need to come, though sometimes it helps.

Together we look at what’s happening at home, what’s likely driving it and concrete strategies to try between sessions. You can come alone, with a partner or with a co-parent.

Some families need a few sessions to get through a rough patch. Others prefer ongoing support as their kids grow. We meet in person in Scarsdale and Park Slope, and online anywhere in New York State.

Parents Often Leave With…

  • A clearer sense of what’s behind their child’s behavior

  • A plan they and their partner agree on

  • More confidence in the hard moments

  • Fewer battles and more good moments at home

  • A sense of when their child might need extra support

The goal is a calmer home and a closer relationship with your child.

Who You’ll Work With

COMMON
QUESTIONS

Does my child need to come? Usually not. Most parenting support is with parents only. If it would help to meet your child or do a parent–child session, we’ll decide that together.

How many sessions will we need? It depends on what you’re working on. Many parents notice a difference within a few sessions; others find ongoing check-ins helpful as their child grows.

What if my partner and I don’t agree? That’s very common, and it’s one of the most useful things to work on. Getting on the same page often makes the biggest difference for kids.

Should my child be in therapy instead? Sometimes a child benefits from their own therapist, and sometimes the most effective change happens through the parents. We’ll help you figure out what makes sense, and our child and teen therapists are here if needed.

In person or online? Both. We see parents in person in Scarsdale and Park Slope, and online anywhere in New York State.
