PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH
Therapy for fertility, pregnancy, loss and postpartum in Scarsdale, Park Slope and online across New York.
From the moment you start thinking about parenthood, through trying to conceive, pregnancy, birth and the first years with a baby, our perinatal team is here to support you.
This season can bring real joy alongside feelings no one prepared you for: anxiety, low mood, scary thoughts, grief, or simply not recognizing yourself. These feelings are common, they are treatable, and they are not a sign that you are failing.
Our therapists have specialized training in perinatal mental health, including through Postpartum Support International, and we work closely with OB/GYNs, fertility clinics and perinatal psychiatrists.
This was supposed to be a happy time. So why does it feel so hard?
Maybe you’ve been trying to get pregnant for longer than you expected. Maybe you’re pregnant and can’t shake the worry, or you’ve had a baby and feel more anxious, flat or overwhelmed than you thought you would.
Many women feel pressure to be grateful and glowing, and guilt when they aren’t. As many as 1 in 5 women experience a perinatal mood or anxiety disorder (PMAD) during pregnancy or in the year after birth.
You’re not alone, and it’s more than the baby blues.
Perinatal therapy helps you feel steadier, more supported and more like yourself through one of life’s biggest transitions.
Women Come to Us When…
Trying to conceive is taking over their life
They’re grieving a miscarriage or pregnancy loss
Anxiety or scary, intrusive thoughts show up in pregnancy or after birth
The birth didn’t go the way they planned
They feel low, numb or disconnected from their baby
Their baby spent time in the NICU
Going back to work feels like losing themselves
Perinatal Therapy That Meets You
“Where You Actually Are”
There is no single right way to feel about pregnancy, birth or motherhood. Our goal isn’t to fix you. It’s to help you feel less alone, more grounded and more connected to yourself, your partner and your baby.
In therapy, we’ll work to:
Understand the hormonal, brain and body changes of the perinatal period
Ease anxiety, intrusive thoughts and low mood with CBT, ACT and DBT skills
Make room for grief after loss, infertility or a difficult birth
Strengthen support at home and ask for what you need
Reconnect with who you are beyond being a mom
When it helps, we coordinate with your OB/GYN, midwife, fertility clinic or perinatal psychiatrist so your care feels connected, not fragmented.

Golda Fleischman, LMSW
In addition to being a therapist, Golda is a certified doula and yoga instructor with a deep understanding of how stress lives in the body. Her approach is holistic and trauma-informed, incorporating body awareness and mindfulness into the work.
She helps clients reconnect with themselves and feel supported emotionally and physically.
Danna Vishlitzky, LMSW
Danna helps clients feel understood, supported, and less alone. She approaches therapy as a thoughtful, collaborative process, one that honors each person’s unique emotional world and life context. She creates a steady, safe space where clients can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of what they’re experiencing.
Perinatal therapy isn’t about getting it “right.” It’s about feeling like yourself again.
Whether you’re trying to conceive, expecting, or months into life with a new baby, we’re here to help you make sense of what you’re feeling. You don’t have to have it all figured out.
Let’s talk.
